More Filming.

On Tuesday we filmed over at Central Park, where the girl is seen sad and lonely on the swings in the play area section of the park. Filming different angles of her swinging, we then decided to film the swings swinging by themselves. The idea for this was that on each beat of the music we would edit into a different angle of the girl swinging - but then we would dissolve this into the swing by itself - showing the girl has gone missing.

Today we have been filming around the Romford Town Centre - subways and Romford Town Hall. In both locations we filmed Ryan lip-syncing to the song - and also playing his guitar along to the music.

Also, in the subway, we filmed Ryan and the girl walking towards eachother - but Ryan only notices her as she walks next to him. However, when he turns around to see where she is no one is there - all that is there is the missing poster for the same girl on the wall.

Since I play the female character in the video, Nichola directs these scenes.

More Locations.

Here are a few more locations we have completed filming on:

The above pictures are of my living room. On this location we filmed the scene where the girl is sitting on the sofa and imagines the boy reaching out for her on the stairs - but when she turns around no one is there, only her phone she left behind.

Today we have also filmed more lip-syncing scenes with Ryan outside the Romford Town Hall.

Locations.

Here are some of the locations where we have been filming our music video:

We have filmed in and around the subway at the end of the Romford Market Place. On the left wall of the subway is where we had placed the missing poster created for my character in the music video.

Similar to the thriller coursework last year, we had filmed outside the same church on the same bench for the lip-syncing scenes.

We had close-ups of the church clock, which the time coincides with the time of where the girl has gone missing.

This is another angle of the church we had filmed the lip-syncing at. This angle focuses on the bench where the boy character sings on.

Extra Props.

Since we are having to film extra scenes and have changed part of the story line, we needed to include more props to help the audience to recognize what is happening.
We knew that the video would involve a missing girl; so to make this more obvious we needed to create a missing poster.
With research into real missing posters; we used Microsoft Publisher to create our own.
The time of the last sighting of the girl corresponds roughly near the time seen on the church clock.
We will hopefully be filming the scene involving this tomorrow in Central Park.

More Editing -Set backs.

We have reached a major setback in the editing process of creating our music video. Due to necessary feedback on our coursework; we have realised that we have a number of issues to contend with:

- We need more lip syncing scenes, this time with a musical instrument (bass, guitar),
- Extra scenes developing the story of the song;
- Re-filming previous lip syncing scenes and story scenes due to the frame/setting either being too dark or exceedingly unclear;
- We also need to re-edit the scenes we do have, so the music video has an increased pace to parallel the song;
- Include a wider variety of set locations and;
- Include a wider variety of camera shots/angles.

If we can manage this to a good standard, hopefully our music video will look a lot better and more understandable.

Amendments to our music video.

We have done some more editing, and while doing so have realised that we need more footage to fill up the one minute gap we still have.
To fill this up, we have decided to film both the boy and girl meeting eachother in the middle of the street. The boy and girl look at eachother, then the girl turns and starts to walk away. The boy is then seen looking at his phone, at a text which says it is over. Sad/Depressed, the boy turns around to look at the girl and finds that no one is there and he is actually on his own.
Just before the end scenes where the girl walks into the road, we will include scenes where the girl is breaking down into tears.

Questionairre.

We asked 30 people the following questions with the possible answers of either yes/no/ maybe.
1) Do you expect their to be a storyline within the video?
yes (19) no (8) maybe (3)
2) Do you expect the music to fit with the video?
yes (27) no (2) maybe (1)
3) Do you expect to see a band within the video?
yes (25) no (2) maybe (3)
4) Do you believe dancing has to be involved to make it better?
yes (15) no (13) maybe (2)
5) Should props be used to make it more interesting?
yes (18) no (7) maybe (5)

Back to Editing.

Now our media exam is out of the way we can focus fully on our media coursework once again. Today we have been editing some more of the video but still need to film more scenes. We have also checked that the beginning scenes match the tempo and beat of the music so it is all in time.

Snow Week.

Since the school has been shut due to adverse weather conditions, we have been unable to edit the rest of our music video on the school iMac computers. We also have our re-sit exam next week, so our media lessons will be focusing on revision for the exam.
We still need to film extra scenes but need to wait until the weather conditions become less dangerous to film out in (since the scenes will need to be filmed outside).
